Arewa Online Media Network Election Holds in Kano Soon

Plans have been concluded to conduct the election of the executive council for northern based, Arewa Online Media Network.

In a press statement signed by Mr Soji Oyawoye and made available to journalists, the Election Planning Committee said the election scheduled to hold in Kano in July will be fair and credible.

According to the committee, the decision to elect executives for the forum was informed by the widespread abuse of professional ethics, especially the culture of reporting unverified news on the online platforms.

The Statement further reads: “The election will expectedly usher in the new executive council of the online news platforms, in order to ensure that the culture of spreading fake news online is tackled with the kind of seriousness it deserves.

A member of the election committee, Mr. John Fwah revealed that Kano State, Northwest Nigeria has been chosen as the appropriate venue for the election, which will hold by the end this month July, 2018.
