Former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has retired from professional football.
The former Chelsea midfielder made the announcement on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 via social media.
Obi, who enjoyed a hugely successful career both at the club and international levels took to his official Instagram account to reveal his decision to retire.
The UEFA Champions League Winner thanked all those who supported his successful career.
Wilfred Ndidi says former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi was a big inspiration to him while he was still learning the ropes as a young footballer, reports Completesports.com.
