Group Drums Support For Nyesom Wike, Others

A group under the auspices of Solidarity Group For Nyesom Wike says it is solidly behind the Governor.

According to the Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdul Mai Tantabara, one of the 2023 Presidential aspirants of the People Democratic party, PDP, said the group came into being “out of necessity from the northern part of Nigeria.”

He made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Kaduna.

“This group which comprises youth and elders is in support of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and three other governors of PDP.

The recent happenings in the party it said has been a source of concern as such found it necessary to step into the issues.

“Events have been unfolding in

PDP since after the primary elections

between the National Chairman of PDP, Iyochai Ayu, the Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and some loyalists of Atiku Abubakar who were not with the party when the going was tough.”

Governor Nyesom Wike the statement explained has been there for the party at the time of need and that he is also the brain behind the reason why both Secondous and Iyochai Ayu were given the recognition of party national Chairmen.

The group is seeking that Governor Nyesom Wike be rewarded for his hardwork as well as given the position of Vice President as dully submitted of which he was denied.

“Governor Nyesom Wike was there for the party. He brought Secondous as National Chairman, and he brought Iyochai Ayu as National Chairman of PDP.

“After the primary election of the party, Nyesom Wike’s name came for Vice President but Atiku Abubakar and his people decided not to make Wike Vice President.”

One of Wike’s agitation the group said is the call for the resignation of the national Chairman (Ayu) in order to give room for a southerner becoming the chairman so that the party can move ahead. This, the Presidential candidate refused. It stated.

“He said No. Now, so many things have been revealed by the ongoing feud which has opened the eyes of people who are not interested, and who don’t show care to what is happening in the Nigeria political arena. Now, they are aware of what is going on. This is why this group decided to give a special backing to Governor Nyesom Wike and other three Governors who want to make sure you either do it right or you get a wrong election.”

The group further stressed.

“We are advising the National Chairman of PDP and Atiku Abubakar the Presidential candidate to take a drastic action before any damage is done to our party so that peace will reign and winning to come to our side.

Declaring their support,

“Wike, stand on your agitation for justice and equity to prevail. We are with you as a group from the northern part of Nigeria. We say kudos to you.”
