Labour Party Raises Alarm over spate of

Labour Party has decried the gruesome killings of their members which it said has given them a lot worries as nothing is being done to bring perpetrators to book.

The National Secretary, Labour Party Kaduna, Honourable Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim Mai Rakumi made this known to journalists at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday.

The party is calling on the Kaduna state government as well as the federal government to help nip this devilish act being perpetrated by their enemies of progress on board as they can not continue to watch their members lives being terminated at will.

“Our great party strongly condemn these killings and we can not continue  folding our arms seeing our members killed on daily basis. As such, we call on the Kaduna state government to do all it take to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to book.

Citing the case of its Woman Leader, late Mrs Victoria Chintex who was murdered and the wounded husband who they wished speedy recover, it said.

“The killing of the amiable women leader of Labour  Party in Kaduna state Mrs Victoria  Chintex is still fresh in our minds and we will follow up with her gruesome murder till Kaduna State government apprehends the culprits.

“Just last week, our great party lost eight members in Kaura local government and Zangon Kataf Local Government  respectively.

‘We must rise to the occasion. We are calling on Kaduna state Government and the security agents to bring an ends to this heinous act.
“These series of killing within short time is highly condemnable and insensitive, especially  in this festive period.
“We in the labour party wants the Kaduna state government to be proactive in protection of live and property of the citizens.
“We therefore call on the Kaduna state government to as a matter of urgency, put all the mechanisms in motion, apprehend and prosecute whoever has hands in this criminality.
“We in the labour party wants the Kaduna state government to be proactive in protection of live and property of the citizens.
The party has described the killings as a calculated attempt by its enemies to bring them down.
It noted that despite the challenges the party has continued to wax stronger. A lot of people have dumped their parties to labour party because it is the party that will take them to the promised land. It added.
Calling on the inspector general of police and INEC,
“We appreciate the efforts being put by the security agencies and we urge the inspector general of police to provide adequate security to political actors in all parts of the country.
“We also call on the INEC to as a matter of urgency set up a machinery, and mechanism to bring to the notice of all the security agencies all cases of murder, attack and violence as election is scheduled to take place in due course.
The party is calling on the good people of Kaduna state to remain calm as everything possible is being done to ensure that lives and properties of the people are protected.
“I want to use this medium to call on all our party members and supporters to remain calm and be law abiding, as the national body of our party is following all cases of killings  in Kaduna state and other part of the country  till justice is not only done, but seen to be done.
