APC Guber Candidate Raises Alarm Over Voters Intimidation in Kajuru, Zaria LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate Sen. Uba Sani has raised concern over alleged voters intimidation in some part of the state.

He raised the alarm while speaking with journalists shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit in Kaduna.

Report he said has reached them of
voters intimidation by the opposition party in Kajuru and Zaria Local Government Areas of the state.
The APC flag bearer has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of conniving with the opposition party to sabotage the process.
Impressed with the turnout, the senator commended the people for their zeal and peaceful conduct while urging that they remain peaceful throughout the process.
Governor Nasir Ahmed Elrufai of Kaduna state also has alleged same. Fielding questions from journalists, he said there was report that voters were intimidated  in some parts of polling units in southern Kaduna  where they were asked to vote for a particular party or go home.
Investigation he said is on going.

On a general note aside the southern Kaduna incidence where voters were intimidated, the process in some polling units has been smooth. He said.

“The bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) identified me using my biometrics, everything happened seamlessly.
“The process has been smooth across the state except in a few places in southern Kaduna where we got reports of voters intimidation where people are being asked to vote for one party or go back home “
He commended the efforts of the security agencies as all was calm.
Also at the polling unit to cast his vote was the House of Representatives – elect, Kaduna North Local Government,
Bello El-Rufai who expressed dissapointment over the alleged conduct. Notwithstanding, he is confident of the ruling party’s victory considering the Guber Candidate’s  antecedent.
Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has delivered his Polling Unit 024 Ungwan Sarki, Kaduna to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday governorship and state assembly elections.
Results announced by the presiding
Officer Haruna Shafiu states that,
Senator Uba Sani polled  257  votes as against the PDP Candidate, Isa Ashiru who scored 81 votes.
New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) 2 votes,  ADP scored 3 votes,  PRP 4 votes.

Also, the Presiding Officer at Polling Unit 026, Maryam Abubakar, announced that

APC won with 146 votes, while PDP scored 61 votes. NNPP scored two votes while  Labour Party scored three votes.

The APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Uba Sani at his own polling unit Kawo, Kaduna North Local Government Area, floored the PDP and other parties.

Announced by the Presiding Officer, the  APC’s Guber. candidate, Senator Uba Sani scored 85 votes to defeat PDP’s candidate Isa Ashiru who polled 54 votes. Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi of NNPP scored 12 votes
