ICT: Alhaji Yusuf Murdimi Memorial Primarily School Trains 270 Students On Computer Appreciation

Alhaji Yusuf Murdimi Memorial Primarily School as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has trained 270 students in its immediate community on Computer Appreciation.

A total of 120 males and 150 females were trained.

The Executive Director of Alhaji Yusuf Murdimi Memorial Primary School, Col. Haruna Idris Zaria rtd.  disclosed this during the event.

According to him,

 “Our School Alhaji Yusuf Murdimi Memorial Primary School has through its ICT Department sponsored and trained 270 Students on Computer Appreciation. We are doing this as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to our immediate Community.

We have trained 120 males and 150 females. The training was for a period of 6 weeks (18th Mar – 29th April 2023).

“The students were equipped with general knowledge about Computers which includes PC Fundamentals, New Features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Coral draw & how to make use of the Internet. We are happy with the result. He said

To further equip them, 15 out of the students were selected for diploma course in computer science.

“We have selected 15 students that did extremely well during their training for a diploma course. Seven males and eight females were selected.  We are going to start our diploma course with these selected number of students.

Yusuf Murdimi Memorial Primarily School is giving them scholarship because is with little or no cost. The diploma course in computer science has come to stay. This will be our first batch of students and for the students that will be coming, after them, we are only going to charge a token. We are not going to collect fees like other schools do because ours is to assist the poor. It is part of our contribution to the society.”

Col Haruna called on cooperate organizations and wealthy individuals to assist the government. Such he said will not only help in building our educational system but also equip our future generation.

“I am using this medium to appeal to cooperate organizations and wealthy individuals in the society to assist in building our youth for better tomorrow because the government cannot do it alone.”

Speaking, the Special Guest of Honour, Kaduna State, Hon. Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Halima Lawal represented by his Permanent Secretary Alhaji Labaran Hassan, commended the efforts of the school in contributing to the growth of education in the state.

While stressing on the importance of computer education, he urged the graduands not to rest on their owls but go further in search of more computer knowledge to be able to fit into the global trend.

Labaran appreciated the school and the initiator of the project, Col. Idris Zaria for his giant stride in providing opportunity for students in its immediate community.

He prayed that Allah enrich the school and for it to continue to grow from strength to strength.

“In Sha Allah, l pray that the Almighty Allah gives the initiator, the proprietor of the school his heart desires. Ameen.”

Also speaking, the district Head Alhaji  Musa Jibril who was overjoyed with such transformation in his community on behalf of his people thanked the management of the school for its gesture while assuring them of the community’s support.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included the area DPO, and parents of the graduating students.

Highlight of the event was a cultural display and presentation of certificates to graduating students by the representative of the commissioner.

To add colour to the event was the recitation of the Nigerian national anthem in Arabic by the pupils from the lslamic section of the school.
