SAKINATU HASSAN IDRIS IS NEW CLERK KADUNA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

The Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani has approved the appointment of Sakinatu Hassan Idris as the new Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

This was contained in a statement dated June 5th, 2023 which was signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement,

“This is sequel to the receipt by the Governor of the Report of the Assembly Service Commission on the “Examination and Processes for Appointment of Clerk to the Legislature.”

The statement has described the new clerk as outstanding and has all it takes to move the assembly forward.

“Sakinatu Hassan Idris, the new Clerk, is a seasoned lawyer, a National Productivity Award Winner, top civil servant and long standing election observer.  Before her appointment, she was the Acting Director, Legislative Drafting Department, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Deputy Director, Legislative Drafting Department, Kaduna State House of Assembly.

From 2016 – 2018, she was the Company Secretary, Kaduna State Market Development and Management Company Limited. From 2004 – 2016, she headed the Kaduna State Rent Tribunal. She was later appointed the Company Secretary Kaduna State Market Development and Management Company Limited, a position she held from 2016-2018.

“The versatile legal practitioner holds the Bachelor of Law – LLB (Hons.) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Barrister at Law ( BL) from Nigerian Law School, Abuja. She has broad and indepth knowledge of a wide range of legal areas and issues that include Criminal and Civil Law, Criminal and Civil Procedure Law, Constitutional Law, Commercial Law, Legislative Drafting, Legal Drafting, Public International Law, Company Law, Environmental Law, e.t.c.

“The Governor urged the new Clerk to use her wealth of experience to reposition the State House of Assembly and make it a model in Nigeria. He wished her Allah’s guidance in the discharge of her assignment.”
