Adamawa Govt announces 24 hr curfew

The Government of Adamawa State has declared a 24-hour curfew on the state, effective, Sunday 30th July, 2023.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, made available to newsmen says, the action was necessitated to curb the increasing activities of hoodlums in the state.

The state governor Adamu Fintiri said the activities of hoodlums across the state capital has assumed a dangerous dimension as they attack people with matches and break into business premises and homes carting away property.

No movement is allowed throughout the state except those on essential duties with valid identification would be permitted to move around during the period of the curfew.

The Governor however appeals to citizens and residents of the state to comply with the directive.  Any person found contravening the order would be arrested and made to face the wrath of the law. He said.
