Gender imbalance has remained a challenge in our society.
This in no small way has retarded many young and vibrant women from contributing positively to the growth of the nation as their knowledge are left untapped.
Gender imbalance has remained one of aviation’s most significant challenges which has been hanging around for as long as flying has existed, and still remains unresolved.
The gender imbalance in the pilot occupation is yet to be addressed, with females represented by just 5.1% of the profession
If only women are given the chance to strive, the sky will be their limits. Not only that, they will be able to turn around the nation’s economy for the better.
This is evidence in these three Ondo born queens who decided to go into a profession regarded as ‘cut out for men’.
Newsreservoir in one of its pursuit and passion for the upliftment of women folk stumbled on these 3 gems.

Who is a pilot?
A pilot is one of the most relevant experts in the aviation sector. They are professionals in charge of operating an aircraft. They are trained to fly jets, passenger planes, helicopters, rescue planes, etc
Chasing our dreams isn’t all that easy, particularly with the female gender who find themselves in the world of men where she has to thread softly to surmmont all manners of obstacles to reach her desired goal.
Such is the case of determined, focused and charming 3 sisters who despite all odds made it to the top.
The three remarkable Ondo State-born sisters who are all pilots are known as Mopelola Makinde, Oluwaseun Makinde, and Oluwafunmilayo Makinde.
The three of them were inspired by their father, Captain Wale Makinde, a veteran helicopter pilot who works with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
Mopelola and Oluwaseun are Helicopter Pilots, while Oluwafunmilayo is a fixed-wing Pilot. The 3 sisters are actively flying and are happily married.  Their father, Capt. Wale Makinde is a native of Ondo town, Ondo State.
