Senator Shehu Sani Quits APC

Zainab Tanimu

Kaduna, North-West, NIGERIA

The resignation of Senator Shehu Sani from the ruling All Progressive Party APC have been described by some political pundits as a minus to the Kaduna APC.

It is no longer news the stained relationship that has existed between the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani and Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Animosity between these two APC bigwigs which political observers said started in 2015 after their inauguration   had continued to grow as days passed by.

Recent development being, the controversies that trailed the 2019 party primaries. The APC declaring Senator Shehu Sani as its only candidate to contest the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in 2019 on one hand which was not well received by governor El-Rufai who went ahead to on Saturday conduct primaries for the senatorial ticket. An election that was won by his aide Uba Sani.

This decision by the APC to clear Senator Sani as its only candidate to contest the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in 2019 political analysts say may not be unconnected to an alleged deal reached to prevent him from dumping the ruling party at a time when it was hit by a gale of defection.

Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani , today Saturday, 20th of October, 2018 has quit the All Progressives Congress party, APC.
In a statement reaching our desk, the Senator has sent his resignation letter to the Chairman of the APC in ward 6, Tudun Wada North,Kaduna.

Below is part of the resignation letter:
