Zainab Tanimu
Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria
The Kaduna state government has been commended for its efforts in touching lives through its distribution of parlliative which took place, Saturday, 5th, April , 2024 at the Murtala square, Kaduna.
The initiative, which was spearheaded by Honorable Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, was meant to bring succour to the less privileged and vulnerable persons (persons with disabilities, youth) in the society.
Women who gathered as early as 8am went home with smiles on their faces as they received their own share of the items.
A one time governor of Kaduna state, governor Ramalan Yero, assisted by the ministry ‘s Senior Special Assistant, Muhammed Sani Haruna and its local media team commenced the distribution exercise.
Yero commended the state governor, Uba Sani while urging the citizens to remain peaceful for the cooperate existence of the state.
Speaking, Hajiya Hadiza Ladi Yahuza ( Maman Chikum ) Director Empowerment, explained that they are distributing parlliative to the women in recognition of their efforts saying, whenever they are called upon for support, they always respond. We need to appreciate them.
“This time around, under the new leadership of Sen.Uba Sani, there is a departure from what used to be in the past. While speaking on his Excellency’s growing concern for the improvement of our women, she said, there is plan on the way to train the women whereby on completion of such trainings, they will be given starter pack.

Also speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Mallama Jummai appreciating such laudable programme,,  thanked Kaduna state government and president Ahmed Tinubu for the initiative.

She commended the transparency displayed during the distribution exercise but called for more attention on the part of the security agents manning the entry gates as their over-zealousness could ruin the good intention of the initiative.

Many women she said were kept stranded outside as they were refused entry to collect their parlliative despite having their identification cards.
The good news however is that the coordinator was able to reach out to those women bared from entering. And it will interest us to know that the commissioner, in his display of exemplary leadership and dedication to the course  of governor Uba Sani’s commitment to the service to his people has ensured that the women get their due.
This afternoon with joy and smiles on their faces, the women happily collected  their own share of parlliative.
