Kaduna Queens Players are the Future Stars for Nigeria Says; Hon. Hadiza Yahuza

Kaduna state has put in place a female football team as part of its efforts to groom players to becoming future stars that would not only help the development of sports in the state but the nation at large.

Honourable Hadiza Yahuza expressed this to our Newsreservoir’s correspondent who was on ground during her inspection visit to the players.

Easy going, focused and firebrand Hadiza Yahuza is the Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairperson Chukun LGA,  Kaduna South. A sport enthusiast she is and a board member of Kaduna Queens Club whose readiness to serve she said was borne out of her passion for sports.

“These are the future Queens of Kaduna and Nigeria. I am into this because l am interested in football particularly female football. This is why I put in my time and my resources to see that l make the best out of these girls. Though, it hasn’t been easy but with determination and support from my other members of the board, we are moving.”

She strongly believes that women have a place in sports development. This has been proven by the Nigerian Super Falcon Women Team who has been able to rate Nigeria high amongst the committee of sporting nations.

The Kaduna Queens she said just came from their Abuja trip and are ever ready to slug it out in any competition. She added.

“The young girls have just come back from a competition in Abuja. We are very hopeful and believing that by the time they go back second and third time, they would do very well.”

Speaking, the Vice Chairman of the club, Comrade Umar Saleh disclosed that the buying of the female slot was necessitated out of the need to have a professional team that could feature stars at the state, national and international levels.

With government assistance, the sky would be its limit he said as all the board members are working assiduously to take the club to greater heights.

Cordinator Coach Aminu Shaibu Makarfi expressing optimism of a promising outings by the Kaduna Queens informed that the team participated in the Nigerian Female Professional League in Abuja where they finished 2nd in the group.

The team he said also participated in the Aieto Female Cup in Edo state but were eliminated in the round of 16.

The board is leaving no stone unturned to ensuring that a strong and formidable ‘Kaduna Queens team’ is on ground come next session. He assured.
