Graduation: 30 Students With Disabilities Receive Start up Packs

The Honorable Commissioner Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development Haj. Rabi Salisu

has charged persons with disabilities to contribute positively in their various communities.

This charge was given yesterday ,Wednesday, while addressing 30 graduating students from Kaduna State Disability Centres in Kakuri and Kafanchan who received startup packs after completion of their vocational training in different areas of specialluzattions.

The training has equipped 30 students with skills in tailoring, welding, knitting, grinding, and hairdressing.

Speaking, “this milestone marks the government’s commitment to transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities through vocational skills training.”
The Commissioner emphasized that empowerment through vocational skills is a priority of Governor Senator Uba Sani’s administration, with an inclusive budget to cater to the welfare needs of these students with disabilities in the centers over the past three years.

She urged the students to believe in themselves, be proud of their achievements, and use their skills to create a positive impact in their communities.

Hajiya Rabi expressed gratitude to United Nations  Population Fund (UNFPA) for supporting government’s objectives and empowering individuals with disabilities.

Congratulating the graduating students, she encouraged and urged them to utilize their startup packs wisely. By so doing, turning their skills into viable businesses, which will help in not only improving their economic well-being but also that of others as well as adding values to the community.
