NYG: 4 States Present At The N/West Zonal Elimination For Team Events

Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto states yesterday turned up for participation in the North West Zonal elimination for team events preparatory for the U- 15 National Youth Games (NYG) scheduled for the 7th – 17th September, 2019 at Illorin, Kwara State.
According to the Chief Administration Officer North West Zonal office, Kaduna, Mr Ogunleye Kayode, Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina States did not show up for the team events elimination as at the end of the screening which took place at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Kaduna State fielded athletes for Hockey (Male and Female), Indoor Volleyball (Male and Female), Beach Volleyball (Male and Female) Cricket (Male) Handball (Male and Female) and Football (Male and Female).
Kano state is competing in Basketball (Male and Female) Handball (Male and Female) Football (Male) Volleyball (Male and Female) and Rogby (Male).
Jigawa State is participating in Basketball (Male) and Cricket (Female).
Sokoto is competing in Football (Male) Basketball (Male) Beach Volleyball (Male and Female) Handball (Male) and Volleyball (Male).
Speaking on the screening, the North West Zonal Coordinator, Mr Olusola Luke said, the screening was carried out without fear or favour, just as he warned that disciplinary action will be taken against any state who fields already disqualified athletes.
The qualifiers which commenced yesterday shortly after the screening is expected to come to an end today.
