Bauchi: Governor  Bala Muhammed Declares Primary And Secondary Education Free In Government Owned Schools

Parents in Bauchi State are to smile as 
Governor Bala Mohammed has declared education from primary to secondary level in government owned schools free.
This was contained in a circular issued on Monday by Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Aliyu Tilde declaring primary education free of all charges while secondary schools pupil are to pay a uniform single annual charge of N700 only.
All payments according to the circular are to be made directly by parents into Treasury Single Account (TSA) and payments  could be staggered by parents during the school session. It added.
The state government however has exempted orphans and vulnerable children from the charges.
The Commissioner while emphasizing on the need for parents to be responsive towards prompt payment, urged that they ensure that students are not sent home for non-payment. 
Aliyu Tilde also warned school management from preventing their students access as a result of inability to pay the charges.
Governor Bala Mohammed declaration of free education he stressed is meant to reduce out- school-children rate in the state.
Therefore, ”any violation of this directive will appropriate sanctions by the ministry”. He warned.
