Women’s day celebration: NB Plc, NAWOJ, in Collaborative Partnership
… Charges Women To Be Self Reliance, Ambassadors Of Peace

In continuation of its social responsibilities, the Nigerian Breweries Plc this year collaborated with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kaduna State Chapter to make its International Women’s Day Celebration a success.
In its message, it charged the women to be self reliance as that will help boost their economic status.
Former Chairperson Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Mrs Jummai Yari in her presentation urged
women journalists to learn different skills aside that of journalism profession as that will help to better their lots.
While speaking on the drug abuse epidemic in the society among women,
children and youths in the society, Yari called on parents to rise up to their responsibility by ensuring they monitor the kind of peer group their children associate with.
ln his contribution, Former Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna State Council, Mr Andrew Fadason stressed on the need for peace while calling on the women to strive towards ensuring peace.
Peace he said is a necessity in all aspect of humanity.
“Women should be engaged in peace promotion, building harmonious relations and mutual respect among the diverse communities in the country.
“In any aspect where peace is missing, all other facets of development are lost.
“This is necessary so that peace will overtake current crisis, wars and conflicts the world is experiencing today, ” he stressed.
Commending NAWOJ for their efforts, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna State Council, Adamu Yusuf urged them not to relent in their bid towards injecting programmes that will help in enhancing the lives of the women.
The month of March he said is set aside for celebrating women as regards to their contribution for the Development of the country.
The Chairperson Kaduna State Chapter of NAWOJ Hajiya Fatima Aliyu said the state Nawoj is seeking collaboration with the 23 Local Government areas of the state to empower women with different skills that would benefit them in Kaduna.
The 2020 international women’s day theme, which is ” Each for equal”.
is celebrated on the 8th of March every year around the world. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights.
