COVID -19: Kano State Government Imposes Ban on Viewing, Event Centers
… directs civil servants to stay at home

To curb the increasing cases of COVID -19 in the state, the Kano state government has imposed a ban on the activities of viewing and event centres across the state.
The state commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
The statement added that the measure was part of the decision taken at the stakeholders meeting held at the Africa House, Kano on Monday.
All civil servants in the state have been directed to stay at home pending further instruction.
‘Workers on essential services such as the healthcare service providers, fire service, water board, teaching staff, security guards and the media are exempted from the ban,’’ The statement added.
According to Solacebase report, the Commissioner has reaffirmed government’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders which includes the Ulamas in order to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 Protocols.’’
Garba however warned that security agents who were part of the stakeholders meeting, “would not hesitate to take stern measures to ensure compliance with the directives’

Kano recorded 26 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
