In his sermon, on ‘who a ‘Mumin’ (believer) is, the Zonal Missionary/ Chief Imam NASFAT Kaduna Branch, Imam Marooph Muh’d Raji charged Muslims to strive and live by the teachings of the Holy Quran and Hadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammed SAW.
Explaining, Imam Marooph mentioned the qualities of a true believer to include,
.Kindness to one’s neighbour irrespective of his religion.
The Messenger of Allah(saw) said three times:
_By Allah, he does not have faith!
It was said, “Who is it, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said:
He whose neighbor is not safe from his evil._
2) Paying debt. He strives to pay his debt before he dies.
The Prophet (saw) said:
_”The soul of the believer is chained to his debt until it is paid on his behalf”_
3) He abstains from curses, insults and neither is he vulgar nor obscene.
 The Prophet (saw) said:
” _A believer is not somebody who curses, insults and neither is he vulgar and obscene.”
4) He does not change no matter the situation. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:
” _How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him. This does not apply to anyone but the believer”._
5) He loves and cares about the issues of other believers.
The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:
_“The believers are like a structure, each supporting the other.”_
6) He is a well-mannered person. The Prophet (saw), said:
_“There is nothing heavier upon the scale of a believer (on the Day of Judgment) than good character.”
_
7) He is shrewd, careful and cautious:
The Prophet(saw) said:
_”A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice”_
8) He speaks the truth or remain silent.
9) He honours his guest.
The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:
_”Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest.”_
Concluding, the above
nine distinct characters of a _Mumin_ ( believer) show the beauty of Islam as a religion, not tied to the mosques alone but also guiding us in our day to day affairs and in relationships with fellow humans.
Looking  at the whole Qur’an, the Prophet was not described with anything except good character. (Q68:4) He said.
