FG Declares March 19–20 Public Holidays for Eid, Calls for Peace and Generosity

The Federal Government has designated Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
This announcement was conveyed in a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Extending warm congratulations to Muslims nationwide for the successful completion of Ramadan, the Minister encouraged them to sustain the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice cultivated during the holy month.
He also urged Nigerians to take advantage of the festive period to offer prayers for national peace, unity, and steady progress.
Furthermore, Tunji-Ojo advised citizens to celebrate in a responsible manner while showing compassion by reaching out to the less privileged in society.
