JAMB Warns Candidates With Pending Admissions to Act Before August 31

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates with pending admission offers from previous admission cycles to accept or reject the offers on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before August 31, 2026, to avoid possible forfeiture.
The warning, which affects candidates with outstanding admission offers from previous years, including the 2020 to 2025 admission cycles, was contained in a post by the Board on its official X platform.
JAMB urged affected candidates to log into their profiles and check their admission status on CAPS, where they are expected to either accept or reject any pending offer before the deadline.
“JAMB has warned candidates with pending previous admission offers to accept/reject them before August 31, 2026, to avoid possible forfeiture.
Candidates are advised to check their admission status and take action before the deadline,” the Board stated.
The directive is particularly important for candidates whose admission offers from previous admission years remain unresolved on the CAPS platform.
Candidates who fail to take action before the August 31 deadline risk possible forfeiture of the outstanding admission offers, according to the Board.
JAMB’s CAPS platform enables candidates to monitor their admission status and respond to admission offers made by tertiary institutions.
The Board therefore advised affected candidates not to wait until the deadline but to check their profiles and resolve any pending admission decision as soon as possible.
Candidates can access their profiles through the official JAMB eFacility portal and navigate to CAPS to verify their admission status and take the required action.
