KADUNA STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR TEES OFF LADIES GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Kaduna state Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe says sport improve health and mental wellbeing of individuals sportsmen and women, making them alert at all times.

” Sport is really important to our livelihoods, it builds us to physically but mentally and helps us not only to enjoyed the leisure both of us who are spectators and players but also helps us to be alert”.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe said the state government is aware of the contributions of Kaduna golf club towards sport Development in the state.

” I pray and hope that the Kaduna Golf Club will continued to support the efforts of the state government to make sport a thing that will all be proud of”.

The Deputy Governor who welcomed all the participating players to the championship, particularly those coming from out the state however, prayed for the cup to remain in Kaduna state.

In response to some of the requests put forward by the the Kaduna Golf Club’s Lady Captain on the Certificate of Occupancy of the golf club, the Deputy Governor asked the club management to liase with the Commissioner of Sports Development to facilitate contact of relevant agency to make it possible.

” I therefore, want to say as you begin the championship today, God in his mercies will give you strength, concentrations and dedication that you would need to win but as I said earlier that there will be only one winner, I pray and hope Kaduna would retain the cup”.

Fielding question on the impact of the games to the economy of the state, after she teedoff the championship, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe explained that whenever a game is hosted in Kaduna state, participants and other people come in to spend thereby improve the state internally generated revenue of the state.

She then called on other organizations to come and host events in the state for more improve economic activities.
