One of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirants in Kaduna state, the Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, Muhammad Abdullahi Dattijo has debunked the news going the rounds that Governor Nasir El- Rufai has endorsed an aspirant as preferred candidate.
Dattijo disclosed this at the APC secretariat on Tuesday when he formally declared his intention to succeed his principal come 2023 election as he  presented his six points agenda for governance if elected into office.
The Commissioner, a former Chief of staff to Governor El-Rufai
noted that his years of service in the state executive council since 2015 and that of CoS to the Governor, has exposed him to the fact that it is not a child’s play governing a state such as Kaduna.
His stewardship under El-Rufai he said has given him the opportunity to understudy and understand the nitty-gritty of governance.
Opening up , he said.
“To be honest, with you our leader and the state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai tried his best and raised the bar in terms of providing infrastructural development and good governance. That is why the state need a credible person with competence to lead it in 2023 .
“Therefore, we need to be careful in making a choice that whoever becomes the next governor is someone that is well experienced and educationally sound.
“Our leader, the Governor has no preferred candidate. He has given all of us his blessing and asked us to go and seek support of the people, then at the end agree within ourselves, (the aspirants) to have a consensus candidate.
“The APC gubernatorial aspirant noted that the ruling party must be returned to power so as to continue with the Governor El-Rufai’s policies and programmes of developing the state.
Presenting his six point agenda later at a press conference, Dattijo listed  security of Kaduna by investing in people and technology, rural transformation by connecting rural economies to Agriculture and Solid minerals as well as Urban infrastructure as his topmost priorities.
Others are building a smarter technologically advanced state, investing in the people by investing in health, education and youth development and lastly attracting  local  and  International  Finance  for Development by working  with  development partners  across the globe to drive the achievement of  the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure no demographic is left behind.
