What a Twist!: Kaduna Restoration Group Splits, elects new leaders

The on-going Brouhaha in the Kaduna APC many political observers are studding with keen interest as the new twist in the cooperate existence of the known unwavering Restoration Group leaves one to ponder.

With Some disenchanted members of the group (KRG) yesterday announcing a new faction of the group, the game is beginning to be a dicey one for APC for according to some political pundits, it is not huhuru yet as much is needed to be done to wade off resilient forces of the PDP

The new faction led by Honourable Awwal Aliyu Tafoki as Chairman and Mohammed Lawak Shehu popularly known as Molash ,Secretary said the decision to dump the Alhaji Tijjani Ramalan Kaduna Restoration Group was informed by the need to restore the group to its founding ideals .

Addressing journalists at African Continental Hotel, Kaduna,  the newly elected Chairman said the new leadership intends to use politics as a tool for development of Kaduna State .

He however informed that arrangements have been concluded to initiate a genuine process of reconciliation between members of the group and APC led government in Kaduna State .

Tafoki, who emphasized that fanning embers of disunity in Kaduna APC must stop forthwith, assured ,” We shall Insha Allah henceforth work towards the success of our party , the APC in the forthcoming general elections “

Speaking on why the disenchanted members dumped the Tijjani Ramalan led KRG, he said , ” Lot of water has passed under the bridge in the last one year. The big questions remain: What is the ultimate goal of the Kaduna Restoration Group? What is the effect of the Kaduna Restoration Group’s activities on our great party, the APC?

“In our attempt to answer these questions, we came to the conclusion that the behavior and utterances of the senior politicians that dragged us into the group,show that their goals are different from the ideals that were advertised to us.

“They were using the group to pursue personal agendas. They were using it for
incitement and deliberate attempts to cause disunity and destabilize the state”.

LEADERSHIP

Address by the newly elected chairman of Kaduna Restoration Group, Hon,
Awwal Aliyu Tafoki. 1st June, 2018.

Gentlemen of the press:

You may wish to recall that the APC led government came into power as a result of the massive rejection of the then ruling party at the polls. Nigerians saw the APC as an alternative, viable platform to the 16 years of maladministration and philandering of the country’s resources that characterized the PDP led government.

Regrettably, few years into the government of change, intra party squabbles led to the formation of splinter group such as the Kaduna Restoration Group, which we joined in our belief that it was meant to help uphold the ideals and programmes of the APC.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge in the last one year. The big questions remain: What is the ultimate goal of the Kaduna Restoration Group?
What is the effect of the Kaduna Restoration Group’s activities on our great party, the APC?

In our attempt to answer these questions, we came to the conclusion that the behavior and utterances of the senior politicians that dragged us into the group, show that their goals are different from the ideals that were advertised to us.

They were using the group to pursue personal agendas. They were using it for incitement and deliberate attempts to cause disunity and destabilize the state.

We have come to the sad realization that we were being misled into undermining our party and the government that it produced.

We regret that as the government was working to implement the APC manifesto some of our leaders failed to give it necessary support.

Instead they tried to mobilize pubic disaffection against the government. And as loyal party men, we can no longer be in the same group with persons that have been expelled from the APC for any party activities and hobnobbing with the opposition.

In view of the foregoing, we decided to effect a change in the leadership. of the Kaduna Restoration Group to restore the group to its founding ideals. I am pleased to announce that Mohammed Lawal Shehu popularly known as Molash is the new Secretary of the Kaduna Restoration Group, with my humble self as chairman.

The new leadership intends to use politics as a tool for the development of our dear state. We will not work with unscrupulous politicians to cause chaos in the political landscape of Kaduna State.

We also intend to initiate a genuine process of reconciliation between members of our group and the APC led government in Kaduna state. The fanning of embers of disunity in the Kaduna APC must stop forthwith.

We shall, Insha Allah, henceforth work towards the success of our party, the APC in the forthcoming general elections

Long live the APC.

Long live Kaduna State.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
