The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress APC,  Sen. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was in Kaduna with his entourage to win the hearts of 69 statutory delegates ahead primaries.
Speaking at Murtala Muhammed square Kaduna, the venue of the event, he called on the delegates to make the right choice as governance needs credible person who can deliver the devidend of democracy.
He said ones antecedents matters in this race and that his anticededents speaks for him.
“You know me, not just talk as the national leader of APC, I am from private sector, l have wealth of experience in private sector development, management and progress of industry.
I chose to be in politics and l became a senator, from there they asked us to go but l said no, l will fight for this democracy. It would have been easy for me to go back to my job and
lay my hands and clap but no, we want democracy, we want constitutional democracy, we want peace, justice, we want civilization like every other nations that have developed.”
The two term former Lagos state governor recounting his achievements made bold to say Lagos state is what it is today due to his 8years of dedicated work. Lagos today is placed on the map of West Africa. He said.
“I became the governor of Lagos state for eight years and l know the condition l met Lagos. Today, Lagos is one of the richest, most progressive state in West Africa. I am proud of that.”
He continued.
“The federal government under me, l am confident l will win (Insha Allah) will support you on all aspect of governance because you are a model. We have history behind you but you must stay in the wind of progress, we are ready to bring changes, we are ready to bring development, we are ready to give confidence to the children. You must work twice harder for this government to remain APC.
“We must work together. I know what you need. All these people that are running, we don’t know where they are running to but for me, l am running to the villa.
Our broom will sweep them to the dustbin.
The APC stalwart promised to do everything possible in terms of power generation to help boost the nation’s economy. He also promised to bring back the Kaduna textile industry.
“We must bring back commodity exchange.
I will do everything to support good project.
We have to ensure harmony and unity of purpose we are in that season again now to elect people.
I say please elect me.I am the best of all of them. In terms of experience, private sector experience, l have, governance experience, you can see Lagos, we joined hands together we formed APC, we never failed and we are still never going to fail.
I want to seek your cooperation. I don’t have legs without you being there. You’re my legs, you’re my wings to get me there. And l promise you l will not let you down.
Elect me , l am the best of them. I have the experience.
Follow the man who knows the road
Commending El-Rufai’s style of leadership, he described him as one with great character. A thinker and a doer who believes in the principles of fairness and justice.
“You have a thinker and a doer in El-Rufai
Governance is not about wrestling. No matter how short a man is, he will still see the sky. He is a visionary leader which has been put into test. He praised him for giving Kaduna a face lift.
The security problem is something that is giving the federal government concern too which by the grace of God he said will have lasting solution.
He thanked the party Chairman, party executives and members for giving him a warm welcome.
A former governor of Borno state, Sen. Kashim ko Shettima  also commended El-Rufai and his attributes. Kaduna he said was not more than a provisional city not until the coming of El-Rufai. We have to acknowledge his ability even in the political arena.”
Shettima speaking on the capability of the presidential aspirant said,
“We need a leader who has credibility who has the generosity of the people at heart.
He described Tinubu as the best amongst the aspirants using his good work he did when he was governor of Lagos state amongst others.
The Governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Nasir El-Rufai presenting the aspirant to the delegates and party members present urged them to do the needful saying, he has the necessary leadership qualities.
Kaduna state has 69 statutory delegates that will vote during the primaries. He informed.
He said Sen. Tinubu is the first presidential aspirant to visit the state. He thanked the senator for his show of love to the state over the train incidence. His visit and support will ever remain green in the minds of the people.
Present at the event were, members of the national and Kaduna state House of Assembly. Also present was the former boss of Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, Nuhu Ribadu amongst others.
