The All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani, a Senator representing Kaduna Central at the upper Chambers has said  the chief function of a legislator is to enact laws.
He has called on the legislators to as much as possible use the opportunity avail them by the electorates to impact positively on members of their constituency as that will speak for them whenever they seek for re-election.
For those who are lagging behind, it is time for them to wake up.
The human rights activist made this call at a parley organized by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna Council for candidates vying for political offices across the state.
Unvalling part of the programme he has in stock for the people of Kaduna state, his administration  he promised will carry everyone along.
Expressing worries, he charged those who are lagging behind, to wake up to their responsibilities because according to him, the national assembly is not meant for people to go and pursue contract like some do, he said.
 For the period he has served at the national assembly, he has impacted positively on the lives of many and therefore the most qualified amongst the gubernatorial candidates seeking for the Kaduna NO.1 seat.
He challenged past senators from other parties, particularly those contending with him saying,
“I am the only senator that has brought project of 3.5billion naira to the state.
“If you look at those contesting with me today from different parties, PDP, NNPP Labour, ask them what have they done before?
He also challenged the media to interrogate other gubernatorial candidates from other parties that are contesting the NO1 seat with him and other politiciaon how they have impacted on the lives of the people before now.
As law makers,  it is their responsibility he said to make laws, laws that will be impactful to the lives of the people they are serving which many have failed to do. All they do is going back to seek for positions. He said.
“As a member of national assembly, they are there is to make laws, update the laws. The president cannot update the laws.
The party flag bearer while unfolding some of the things he has in stock for the people of Kaduna state, which revolves round insecurity, human capital development, education and health what he informed that within his stay in the senate, he has sponsored 31 bills out of which 7 have been assented by the president. He promised to ensure that three of his other bills scale through.
“I was the one that sponsored a bill to amend the national human rights Act. l did that because l realized that the one we have at the moment is obsolete and not inline with the global best practices. Why did l do that? To bring the rights of the disabled and the youth.”
Before l leave the Senate l will make sure that three more of my bills are assented to.” He stated.
“We will strengthen our institutions. We will make sure that we have strong synergy, very good relationship with our legislatures because they are the ones who look into the laws so that we can  grow.
The lawmaker intends to have an aggressive drive with regards to education by provoking the well-to – do in the society to support education in order to close the gap between the north and the south because the government cannot do it alone.
He noted that governor El-Rufai has done much particularly in the areas of girl child education which he too intends to pursue. His foundation is taking both the issue and that of health seriously and have even contributed the sum of

He said is the most qualified candidate because he has touched on the lives of many people.  He has done more than all the senators from other parties, PDP, others who had served before him at the National Assembly.

On infrastructural development, he commended governor El-Rufai for the urban renewal programme which has given Kaduna a face lift.

“Kaduna is becoming what it is supposed to be.

His administration if victorious  come 2023 election will concentrate on grassroot infrastructural development. He promised.

Facilities will be brought closer to the people because already he has started doing it.

As part of his contributions, he has selected and equipped as well as provided ambulances to some health care facilities services provided by the El- Rufai’s administration across the local government areas of the state.

“Uba Sani Foundation’, every year, we spend about N50m towards supporting girl child education and education generally for the poor and the down trodden.
On insecurity which he considered key, state police is the answer. He said.

“We cannot solve the problem of insecurity in Nigeria except we come together to agree that we will create state police in Nigeria.  We need not less than 3 million police in this nation.

The creation of state police is the solution to insecurity in Nigeria.

Until we agree and come to term with that. That is what happens globally. Many countries have federal and state police.

Everybody will be carried along saying,
Kaduna state is the most important state in northern Nigeria as such every possible best needs to be done to keep it united and
