There is an outbreak of diptheria in Lagos State. There is need to be at alert and seek medical attention when signs are noticed.

Diptheria is a serious infection of the nose and throat that’s easily preventable by a vaccine.

You would notice a  sheet of thick, grey matter covering  the back of the throat when you look inside , tonsils would be inflamed  and breathing maybe hard.

Treatable by a medical professional….not agbo!

It is spread in various ways. It could be through kissing , coughing , sneezing , sharing of drinks, cups and its also air borne.

It resolves within days to weeks and requires emergency care .
