Victims of Zamfara Attacks Receive FG’s Relief Materials
Kaduna, North-West NIGERIA
Federal Government has presented to Zamfara state Government relief materials to cushion the effect on victims of the recent attacks by unknown gunmen on some communities in the state.
The Acting President and the Chairman National Emergency Management Agency Governing Council, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on behalf of the federal government presented the relief support to the Zamfara State Governor, AbdulAziz Yari.
Professor Osibanjo was accompanied by some top government officials and NEMA’s Director General, Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, who was represented by the agency’s Director Search and Rescue, Air Commodore Iyamu were to Talatan Mafara Local Government Area for the formal presentation.
Governor Yari commended the federal government for its gesture which he described as timely and prompt. Zamfara State Management Agency (ZEMA) in collaboration with authorities from the affected places he said already had put in place necessary machinery to ensure proper distributions of the items to the victims.
Relief Materials donated are 1200 bags of rice, 300 bags of beans, 300 bags of maize, 300 kegs of vegetable oil, 1500 cartons of tomatoes, 1500 pieces each of men, women and children clothing, 1000 bundles each of wax and brocades, the rest are 1000 pieces of mattresses, 2500 pieces of blankets, 2000 pieces of mosquitoes nets, 1000 pieces of nylon mats and 200 cartons of toilet soap.
Head Nema Sokoto Operations Office, Mal. Suleiman Muhammad stated that victims of the attacks ,which resulted to loss of lives, destruction of properties and displacement of large numbers of residents in Maradun, Maru, Anka, Dandoto and others will immediately receive the federal government’s relief intervention.
