INEC Presents Certificate of Return to President Elect Tinubu, Shettima

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has presented the Certificates of Return to the president elect Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima who emerged victorious in the 2023 presidential election.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the presentation Wednesday, afternoon at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The President-Elect accepting the certificate emphasized on the need for his contenders, the presidential candidates and every Nigerian to join hands to work for the progress of the nation. Even those who did not support him.

 “I am asking you to work with me. I may be the president elect but I need you. More importantly, Nigeria needs you.
“My heart and my door are open to you. I ask you to come in so that we may begin the task of rebuilding our national home together, day by day, brick by brick.”
“To those who did not support me, I ask that you not allow the disappointment of this moment to keep you from realising the historic national progress we can make by joining hands and hearts in common endeavour to pull this nation through.”
Assuring Nigerians on his commitments to do his best and particularly to see to the plights of the youths. He said.
“I will work day and night. I will work to the utmost of my ability to make Nigeria better.
“For this to be a victory at all, it cannot simply be a victory for one man or even one party. It must become a victory for all Nigerians who are committed to a greater society.”
 Earlier in his acceptance speech titled, “Renewed Hope  has Landed in Nigeria” he had stressed on the need for collaboration from each an every individuals to make Nigeria great.
Present at the  event were high profile dignitaries,Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiama, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha and host of others and party faithfuls.
