APC’s Gabriel Saleh Zock wins Kachia/Kagarko House of Rep re-run election.
The candidate of the All progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Gabriel Saleh Zock has been declared winner of the Saturday re run election for Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency.
Declaring the result Sunday night, the lNEC Returning Officer, Professor Haruna Aminu from ABU, said Hon. Saleh Zock polled 42,461, with Hon. David Umar Gurara of PDP who came second with 26,218 votes, while Hon. Augustine Danbaba Umar of Labour Party, trailed far behind 2,311 votes respectively.
The Appeal Court had on 19th October 2023, declared the March 18, 2023 election of the Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency inconclusive and ordered a fresh election in the entire Constituency, following a petition by the Labour Party Candidate for excluding his party logo in the ballot paper.
Reacting to his victory, Hon. Zock expressed gratitude to the people of Kachia/Kagarko Constituency for reaffirming their support for him and promised to consolidate his previous achievements with the renewed mandate given him.
On his part, the candidate of the Labour Party, Hon. Augustine Danbaba described the election as peaceful, credible, and fair and promised to work assiduously with the winner for the development of the Federal Constituency.
