Kaduna Guber: INEC suspends election results till 6pm

There has been anxiety and tension in Kaduna state as supporters of  two leading political parties APC, PDP wait anxiously for the result of the governorship election.

So far, the results of 22 out of the 23 local governments have been annouced.

The electoral commission said they are having little problem with the result of Kudan local government and that will need time to download votes cast by each political party in that particular local government area.

TVC’s brief interview with the Admin. Executive Secretary, INEC gives an insight on the situation on ground.

” There are some issues we are facing at the coalition center. There was an invasion at the center. During the invasion, the thugs threw up all the papers. The officials ran to us, luckily, the commission through their policy of INEC already had uploaded all information from all the polling units and that of Kaduna into the INEC server.

The slight suspension of result is to give enough time to download all the results in the presence of all the stakeholders, then give them to the coliation officer who will inturn impute them for onward transmission to all the coliation centres for them to do the needful.”

The most important thing he said is ensuring that the proper thing is done.

Meanwhile, security has been heightened around the town. The statement from the Commissioner lnternal and security affairs, Samuel Aruwan has warned those planning to foment trouble to be careful or face the wrath of the law.

However, supporters of both parties are already laying claim to victory.

As for now, everything is calm as people are waiting patiently for 6pm when hopefully the result will be announced.
