Group Declares Support for Fayose’s Dream for President

A group under the auspices of Northern Youth Group has declared support for Ekiti governor’s dream of becoming the next Nigerian president.

The group made this declaration at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat (NUJ) in a press conference held under the leadership of Mallam Musa Tukur Gombe, the Co-Founder of the group. They are supporting the Executive Governor of Ekiti State for his vision and character.

“I have never met him before, but his vision and his character makes me and my group wants to support him”.

How come you are standing for Fayose coming out for presidency when PDP as well as other parties have zoned it to the north? More so, President Buhari has not finished his years and maybe before 2019, the party might decide to pick another person that would complete the eight years.

Number one, the PDP is unconstitutional; there is no any constitution in PDP that says a candidate must come from north or south. And how sure are you that if president Buhari contests election in 2019 he would win? Nobody knows.

For some of us that have been following the political trend in the country, we know that Governor Fayose is one of the few that have been criticizing the incumbent president on the issue of his health and others. You happen to come from this part of the country where you have the president and you are supporting such a man which many Nigerians see as ‘anti’ Buhari. More so, president Buhari has not come out to say he is going to or not going to context come 2019. How do you clear this?

You know we are in politics, not military regime so Fayose has every right to say his mind when he sees anything that is right or wrong.  So all Fayose is saying is about the rights of his freedom of speech as a   Nigerian. He is criticizing based on what he sees.  So, for one coming from the north and Fayose from the south, we are all Nigerians. I am not saying Fayose should come and contest for governorship in my state. I am saying Fayose should contest for president of Nigeria. By law, Fayose has every right to contest if he wants and he has said it and we have to support.

My question is, have you contacted Fayose for his opinions on what you are doing or do you have a sponsor or you are doing it on your own?

I have heard him saying he would be contesting for the office of president come 2019. If you have his number you can call to ask him. He has nothing to do with what l am doing. I am the one sponsoring myself for now.
