It was a day full of prayers and joy for NASFAT family in Kaduna as they welcomed one of their members into the fold of retirees.

Alhaji Waheed Amusa, a seasoned lecturer in Kaduna polytechnic is saying, though he has retired but he is not tired.

Alhaji Amusa is a pioneering member of NASFAT Kaduna Branch who has held many positions and has contributed and still contributing to the growth of lslam.

Easy going, resourceful Chairman,  NASFAT Kaduna Education School Board, Zonal Public Relations Secretary is a force to be reckoned with.

Alhaji Amusa popularly known as, ‘Baba Ramadan’ has contributed his wealth of experience towards the actualization of the society’s programmes. One of such being the innovations for the successful implementation of the Ramadan programmes thus, nicked named, ‘Baba Ramadan’.

As NASFAT wishes him well and successful years of retirement, his retirement it sees as a blessing in disguise for the society as it is offering him more time and dedication to the course of Allah.

Chairman NASFAT Kaduna branch, Alhaji AbdulAkeem Adeniji has described him as a dedicated member of NASFAT who is ever ready to contribute to the growth of the society and Islam at large.

“NASFAT is an organization that believes in equal rights to everybody irrespective of your gender, your strata in the society or your influence.

Alhaji Abdulwaheed Adetunji Amusa is a dedicated member of NASFAT and

we deem it fit to celebrate him , to call people of like minds to pray for him for a successful post retirement life. To appreciate and thank him for what he has done for us.

“The Prophet (SAW) said, whoever does not appreciate human beings will not be able to appreciate Allah.

“He is committed, hardworking and dedicated to the service of Allah. Ever ready and always available to all NASFAT work assigned to him. He added.

“It is important to also say that as part of NASFAT’s policy, NASFAT does not only commensurate with the bereaved. We also celebrate with people that are in state of joy. We don’t wait until someone dies before we celebrate him or gather money to take care of him or his family.
“We don’t wait until one is in the state of illness before we gather around the person. We also celebrate people for what they have done. Celebrating their achievements”.
This he said is not the first time such celebration is taking place. Members that have achieved academy excellence in their various capacities have in the past been recognized. He said.

 

Adeniji commended Alhaji Abdulwaheed for his prudency which he said has led to, together with his team delivering a surplus yield at the end of the school session.
“Last session of the school, he together with his team in the board were able to deliver a surplus yield. This shows that he is someone that can be relied upon.
We are using this opportunity to appreciate him, appreciate his family for what he has done for lslam and NASFAT in general”.

In his goodwill message, NASFAT National Executive member, Project  Secretary, Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf described the celebrant as a man of humility. A quality he said worthy of emulation.
“Alhaji Abdulwaheed is a very dedicated member of NASFAT. NASFAT is very proud of him.
We call him Baba Ramadan because of his dedication to all the programs we are doing.  So l want to congratulate you sir today, we celebrate you, we are proud of you. Allah has always been with you. I want us to emulate that humility in Baba Ramadan. When Baba Ramadan took over from his predecessor, he injected some innovations into the activities which the society is proud of.”
Engr. Muhyideen informed that ‘Baba Ramadan’ played a vital role in the conceptualization of the edifice we have standing there today as NASFAT Kaduna Media Center (NASKAM). A structure which includes a befitting conference room

which runs skeletal media services for the society that came into being during the tenure of Engr. Muhyideen’s Chairmanship.
“So, we thank you for the dedication and contributions to the course of Islam while we wish you a very fulfilled retirement.
Speaking deputy Deen, school of science and technology in a brief interview with hajiya Zainab Tanimu of Newsreservoir shortly after the event.
Speaking, the Deputy Deen School of Science and Technology, Abubakar salisu who represented the Deen, Kaduna Polytechnics, Alhaji Hassan Ali commended Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amusa saying, he is a reflection of a true leader.
“What you have seen happening here today is a reflection of personality of what Baba Waheed is. We call him Baba Waheed in the department. He is a leader. A leader who has all the qualities that you can think of a leader. Very accommodative and humble.
He was my boss. He never had a single query in his file throughout his service.
“When we came as assistant lecturers, into the service of Kaduna polytechnic, they were the ones we were looking up to in the department. They held us as their younger brothers and taught us a lot of things.
To God be the glory, l am now deputy Deen of school of science and technology.
“They taught us what is right and what is not. They were always on our head to do what is right.
We are praying for him. Even though he has retired, he is not tired. Like we have just witnessed, he has been saddled with another responsibility.This is how everybody will want to end up, working in the course of Allah.
Like he said, since he retired , he has not lacked.
The thing is not, when you start , it is how you end up in life.”
He prayed that Allah continue to strengthen and bless him in his new task.

It was a moment full of encomium for Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amusa as people poured out their hearts about his person, for he is a jolly good fellow.

NASFAT Zonal Missioner Imam Ma’rooph Muhammed Raji who also appreciated Alhaji Abdulwaheed’s dedication to lslam led the congregation on a special prayer for a successful retired life.

“One of his ex students of Kaduna Polytechnic, hajiya Medina Lawal has this to say.
“He was what we call, a teacher. I won’t call him a lecturer. You know these days we have these lecturers that just give you notes. But for him, he comes and teaches you. He is the type that doesn’t want to see failure in any student. He does everything to make sure that the students excel in whatever they are doing.
“He does everything to ensure that his students don’t lag behind. There was a case of a student that he had to probe to find out what actually was wrong with her assisted in order not to repeat a class.
“He has really shown good leadership. He is a very understanding person, somebody who loves to teach people and put them in the right direction. We have really learnt a lot from him and want to appreciate him.
On behalf of my ex- students, we are saying, congratulations sir.

A two term NASFAT Kaduna Branch’s Public Relations Secretary, hajiya Zainab Tanimu who had on different occasions worked closely with Alhaji Abdulwaheed described him as easy going, hardworking and one who is result oriented in whatever task he is given.

The celebrant, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amusa, (Baba Ramadan), thanking Allah for a life well spent appreciated NASFAT and the entire congregation for their support saying, whatever he has achieved in NASFAT is with their support particularly the women who were always ready to give their all for the success of the programmes.
“I am highly honored for the love that my fathers and mothers have shown to me and l pray that Allah reward you all and all those that contributed to the success of this programme.
There is a saying that it is good to celebrate when one is alive and this is a typical example of such celebration. In life, there is always a first time, and
l will like to plead with the leadership of NASFAT to let us continue to celebrate people while alive not when that person is dead.
Speaking with Zainab Tanimu of Newsreservoir shortly after the celebration on his service years and his dream as a retree, he has this to say.
“Alhamdulillah, l think the service period is meant to serve humanity. To do what they do on the job and fortunately my type of service has to do with people’s life because it has to do with teaching.
Getting people educated is one great thing in one’s life because when you have an educated society, you breed not only people who are hardworking but also people who are loyal to the country, and who feel they should contribute to the growth of humanity.”
Alhaji Abdulwaheed thanking Allah for a life well spent, retiring at the age of 65, feels pleased for the little he has been able to impact to the growth of humanity.
“When l was in service, l did my best to ensure that l impacted positively to people’s lives.
Alhamdulillah, that l am being celebrated when l am out of service.

Baba Abdulwaheed, ‘(baba Ramadan) is believing that Allah just as ‘He’ has seen him through his service years will be there for him in every step that he takes.
“This is another phase in one’s life and one may be faced with challenges. Alhamdulillah, right from on set when l left service, l have always been meeting positive things and l feel that Allah is by me and Allah will continue to be with me”
Baba Ramadan, now that he is out of service, promises to dedicate his life to the service of Allah.
“Since l am now out of government service, l can devote much of my time to serving humanity and to serving Islam.” He emphasized.
Those present at the occasion were, past chairmen and executive members of both NASFAT Kaduna and Doka branch; past and present MCON presidents, NASFAT Missionary board members, dignitaries, others.
