Zakat he said will be given on first come first serve and that it has certain conditions to be fulfilled.

The Committee Secretary, a member of the Missionary board, Ustaz Ismail Kolawole explained some of the modalities involved in giving zakka.

Zakat he said is an act of piety through which one expresses concern for the well-being of fellow Muslims, as well as preserving social harmony between the wealthy and the poor. Zakat promotes a more equitable redistribution of wealth and fosters a sense of solidarity amongst members of the Ummah.
Zakat is a form of almsgiving, often collected by the Muslim Ummah. It is considered in Islam as a religious obligation, and by Quranic ranking, is next after prayer (salat) in importance.
As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Zakat is a religious duty for all Muslims who meet the necessary criteria of wealth to help the needy. Allah says; “Take [O Muḥammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allāh’s blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing” (Quran 9:103).

Explaining further, Ustaz Abdullahi Raji also a missionary board member stressed the need for members to follow the injunctions of Allah in order to reap goodness in the hereafter.

Also unveiled was the land acquisition  committee.

Ustaz Ismail urged members to build a house for Allah by contributing towards building NASFAT Doka Branch’s mosque as the present location aside from the fact that it does not belong to the society, has become small for the congregation.

Unfolding the modalities with which to ease the contributions, he appealed for the commitments of members towards the purchase of the land and the take – off of the mosque construction.

Allah he said has promised whoever builds a house for Him on earth, a house in aljalna.

“The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), said, Allah promised that:
“Whoever builds a Masjid (mosque) for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
“All of us are servants to Allah so let’s serve Allah in the right way. It is a transaction between you and Allah
And whoever shows one the way, Allah will reward him.” He said.
He also called on wealthy individuals to assist in the realization of the objective.
Dr. Mario Ipadeola also a member of the Zakat committee described such action as sadaqah jariyah as she encouraged every members to be part of the exercise.

“Let’s work for what will give us rahama in our graves. No matter how small, make sure you have reward in this sadaqah jariyah.”

Sadaqah Jariyah is a long-term kindness that accrues ongoing reward from Allah (SWT). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.
