Ramadan: Chairman, Kaduna North LG Council Commends NASFAT, Opens up on Proposed Payless Market

Chairman, Kaduna North local government Council , Hon. Muktar Baloni said plans are on the way to cushion the present hardship being faced due to the present increase in prices of commodities in the market.

Kaduna North Local Government, in conjunction with Sultan Bello Mosque Committee have strategized ways by which citizens will purchase goods at a lesser price this ramadan period.

The market he said will be open to all irrespective of tribal or religious affiliation.

He disclosed this when executive members of NASFAT Doka Branch paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

While in his office, the Chairman Doka branch, Hon. Musbau Adepoju seeking his collaboration intimated him on NASFAT’s programme of activities including ramadan related ones.
Members prayed for his successful tenure in office.

 

Responding he commended NASFAT for their programmes particularly its empowerment programmes which he said is inline with government’s efforts in caring for its people.
Their plan to set up a pay-less market he explained will go a long way in ameliorating the continuous increase of prices of goods in the market during ramadan.

According to him,

“It is a low cost market designed to be a sort of Payless Market in collaboration with Kaduna North Local Government Council and Sultan Bello Mosque Committee.

It is going to be situated at ‘filin minister’, that is, the open prayer ground for Sultan Bello (idi-ground).

“It intends to  run for 30 days of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The market is going to display all products. Food and non food items that are ramadan and sallah related by distributors and producers alike so that they can be able to sell goods at distributors level prices to end users.

“By so doing, the end users can get some savings on their typical baskets that they take to the market  lt is an open market. It is for everybody. Everybody is welcomed.” He stated.
