A group under the auspices of Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) has stressed the need for northerners to expedite action in restoring the glory of the region.
“We are quite aware that numerous reports have been submitted to the government but ours is different because researches were made and as a result, we organized a two day round table meeting at Abuja and was attended by calibre of people.
“We deliberated seriously and submissions were made from analysts. After the round table conference, over 230 memorandum were submitted to office of the coalition of northern groups (CNG) for verification and input into the main report of the CNG.
Alhamdulillah, we were at the government house on the invitation of the Northern State Governors Forum.
We had our report which we submitted. Not only the report, also, the implementation strategies.
“The implementation strategies will become the guiding principles. It will tell the governors what to do. It will tell the president what to do. Even you the media people, that implementation plan will tell you what to do. That’s what differs this report from other reports that have been submitted previously.
The report he emphasized entails anything that is called development in northern Nigeria.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very happy that we see light at the end of the tunnel and we believe that after the deliberation, insecurity in northern Nigeria will be a thing of history.
“We will restore not only security in northern Nigeria, we will restore peace and harmony.
We will co-exist with each other and northern Nigeria will once again be great and mighty.
The challenges of the north he said are numerous and the root causes need to be tackled.
“We have the issue of poverty, we have the issue of economy instability, we have the issue of social instability , we have the issue of failing family values but above all, we have the issue of insecurity.
“We must engage all people to be stakeholders in these issues. We must contribute our quota to ensure that we develop this region. We have no other place to call home than northern Nigeria. We are duty bound to ensure that we give our maximum cooperation in order to ensure that we instal the glory of northern Nigeria. He emphasized.
