NLC’s Ultimatum On Minimum Wage Ends Today
… awaits Tunubu’s response
The talks between the Federal Government and Organised Labour on the proposed new minimum wage ends today.
The Tripartite Committee on National Minimum wage last Friday concluded its meetings.
While the Federal Government and the Organized Private Sector agreed on N62,000, Labour demanded N250,000 as minimum wage.
However, Nigeria Governors Forum in a statement have kicked against Labour’s demand of N250,000 which they said is not sustainable. They are ready to settle for N60, 000 minimum wage.
Meanwhile, both the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress leaders are waiting for President Tinubu’s response on the issue which according to report he is presently reviewing after which official announcement will be made.
