Tokyo 2025: Amusan holds second  world title in 100m Hurdles

Nigeria’s sprint hurdler, Tobi Amusan, has won the silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships.

The Nigerian world record holder ran clocking an impressive 12.29 seconds to take second place, giving Nigeria its first medal of the tournament.

She had a slow start out of the blocks but showed her trademark strength in the final stages, almost catching the winner.

Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji claimed the gold medal with a new national record of 12.24 seconds.

American Grace Stark claimed bronze in 12.34sec.

Olympic champion Masai Russell of the USA finished fourth in 12.44 seconds.

Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland and Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas both ran seasonal bests of 12.49 seconds while

Jamaica’s Danielle Williams came seventh in 12.53 seconds, and Nadine Visser of the Netherlands was eighth in 12.56 seconds.
