NASFAT Kaduna Zone: Publicity Committee Trains Members on Digital Skills, Strengthens ICT Capacity

By Zainab Tanimu, Kaduna – North-West Nigeria

In a move to strengthen its digital engagement and enhance the capacity of its members, the NASRUL-LAHI-L-FATIH Society (NASFAT), Kaduna Zone has supported an in-house ICT training organised for members of its Publicity Committee.

The session, held at the NASFAT Kaduna

Media Centre (NASKAM ) in the Kaduna Main Branch, was designed to equip committee members with practical digital skills and improve the society’s communication output.

Speaking during the training, the resource person, Brother Abdulmajeed Aremu, said the exercise was essential as the world continues to advance technologically.
“We now live in a digital village, and it’s important we move with the times,” he explained. “Many of our programmes, especially the Sunday Asalatu, are streamed live on Facebook and Instagram. This training helps us understand how to connect our activities online so that even members who can’t be physically present can join from anywhere.”

He added that the committee hopes to expand into more advanced areas, including the use of artificial intelligence, as NASFAT continues to grow its digital footprint.

Another session was facilitated by Brother Abdulbasit, who provided further insights into the use of modern communication tools.

Zonal Public Relations Secretary, Hajiya Zainab Tanimu, emphasized that the training was crucial for members whose responsibilities include projecting the society’s activities to the public.
“As publicity officers, you cannot showcase what you don’t understand,” she said. “The world is evolving, and we must keep up with new innovations. This is why we are starting with the resources within our zone, because NASFAT is blessed with professionals from diverse fields.”

She noted that while the training is internally driven, the committee also plans to invite external experts in the future to deepen members’ knowledge.

The Media Centre, she added, is a vision initiated by the NASFAT National Project Secretary, Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf, during his tenure as Chairman of the Kaduna Main Branch.
“The goal is to build a fully functional studio, and with the capable hands we have—especially experienced media practitioners—we are confident the dream will become reality,” she said.

Hajiya Zainab expressed appreciation to the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Popoola Gambari, branch leaders, EXCO members, and supporters for their ongoing encouragement.
“We truly count on the continued support of our leaders and members as we work toward serving the society better,” she added.
