ICPC Detains Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai Over Ongoing Probe

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is currently in its custody.
In a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, the Commission’s Head of Media and Public Communications, Okor Odey, disclosed that El-Rufai is being held in connection with ongoing investigations.
According to the statement, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai was in the custody of the Commission as of the close of work on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The ICPC clarified that his detention is linked to investigative activities being conducted by the agency.
While the Commission did not provide further details regarding the nature of the investigation, it reiterated that the former governor remains in its custody as inquiries continue.
