NASFAT Kaduna Zone has called on Muslims to embrace self-restraint, compassion, and love for one another, regardless of ethnic or religious differences, in line with the teachings of Islam.
The message was the focal point of a Lailatul Qadr lecture organised by the zone and hosted by its Doka branch in Kaduna. The programme, themed “Whoever Saves a Life Saves All Humanity,” drew participants into deep reflection on the value of human life and moral responsibility.
Delivering the lecture, an Islamic scholar, AL- Imam Abdul Quadir Ar-Robbaniy AL-Adaby, Deputy Imam of Ansarul Islam Kaduna branch, emphasised that Islam places a high premium on the protection of life, property, and human dignity.
He noted that true faith is reflected in one’s ability to love for others what one loves for oneself, as taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
To illustrate the dangers of negative emotions, the scholar recounted the Qur’anic story of Qabil and Habil, the sons of Prophet Adam. He explained that jealousy and envy led Qabil to commit the first murder in human history after his sacrifice was rejected, serving as a timeless warning against unchecked anger and resentment.
Quoting from the Qur’an, he stressed that taking one innocent life is akin to destroying all humanity, while saving a life is regarded as saving all mankind. He urged believers to seize every opportunity to protect and uplift others, noting that acts of kindness and compassion could be a pathway to eternal reward.
The cleric cautioned against societal vices such as greed, hatred, and injustice, which he said continue to fuel violence.
He called for sincere self-reflection, particularly as Ramadan draws to a close, encouraging Muslims to sustain the virtues of patience, humility, and generosity beyond the holy month.
He further underscored the sanctity of life, warning against both harming others and self-harm, describing life as a sacred trust that must be preserved at all costs.
In his remarks, the Chairman of NASFAT Doka Branch, Hon. Musbau Adepoju, also appealed for unity and understanding within the Muslim community.
He highlighted the steady growth of the branch and stressed the urgent need for a permanent mosque to accommodate its expanding membership.
According to him, the proposed mosque would serve as a centre for worship, learning, youth development, and community unity. He called on members and well-wishers to support the project and help turn the vision into reality.
