NASFAT Kaduna Zone, Missionary Institute Train 90+ in Intensive Da’wah Programme

In a concerted effort to deepen Islamic knowledge and foster peaceful coexistence, the NASFAT Kaduna Zone, in partnership with the NASFAT Missionary Institute, has successfully concluded a three-day “Train-The-Trainer” Da’wah programme.

The intensive session, which drew over nighty participants including both NASFAT members and non-members, was held at the Water Resources Centre, Kaduna.

The programme was designed not only to enhance participants’ understanding of Islamic tenets but also to equip them with the skills to positively influence their communities.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of Women Dawah, Hajiya Sadiat Onike, who represented the NASFAT Missionary Institute, emphasised that Islam is fundamentally a religion of peace. She stressed the necessity of continuous education to enable members to live just and harmonious lives.

“NASFAT’s Da’wah programme is meant to bring people closer to Allah through sound Islamic knowledge, strengthen their faith and character, and inspire them to live Islam positively in their personal lives and society,” Hajiya Onike stated. She added that the training aligns perfectly with NASFAT’s mission of developing an enlightened Muslim society nurtured by a true understanding of Islam for the spiritual upliftment and welfare of mankind.

Hajiya Onike urged the zone to sustain its efforts in knowledge acquisition, emphasizing that Islam is built upon the foundation of learning. She called on parents to prioritize Islamic education for their children and encouraged a spirit of generosity, which is pleasing to Allah and highly rewardable.

To ensure the training’s impact endures, she recommended the establishment of online discussion platforms, guided by facilitators, to maintain engagement and knowledge retention.

In her remarks, she extended profound gratitude to the facilitators who traveled from various destinations, the zonal and branch executives, committee members, and all who contributed financially and logistically. She particularly commended the Da’wah Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amusa, describing him as a retired civil servant who remains untiring in his service to the faith.

Delivering the goodwill message from the NASFAT President Worldwide, Alhaji Abdulrauf Ayodeji, the National Project Secretary, Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf, applauded the collaborative efforts of the NASFAT Missionary Institute and the Kaduna Zone leadership. He praised the zeal of participants and the relentless dedication of Hajiya Sadiat Onike.

“Our purpose for this assignment is to gain knowledge,” Engr. Yusuf stressed. He charged participants to remain steadfast in their quest for learning and to attend Da’wah programmes organised by other branches to broaden their horizons, citing his own example as a testament to lifelong learning.

The Zonal Chairman, NASFAT Kaduna, Alhaji Saheed Popoola Gambari, expressed his appreciation to the Missionary Institute for facilitating the programme. He urged members to continually develop themselves through such initiatives and thanked the zonal and branch executives for their unwavering support.

The opening ceremony was well-attended, anchored by Imam Ismail Kolawole, a Missionary Board member from the NASFAT Doka branch.

During the ceremony, the Zonal Women Affairs Secretary, Hajiya Muibat Lawal, stated that participants should put in their best to gain the dividends of the programme. She also thanked the organising committee for a job well done.

Chairman of the Da’wah Committee, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amusa, expressed fulfillment at the programme’s success and appreciated the leadership, his committee members, and everyone who contributed. He also thanked the management of Water Resources Kaduna for their hospitality and prayed that Allah continues to bless and support them.

To foster camaraderie, the event featured interactive activities including a “Name Game” and the selection of “Shadow Friends,” allowing participants to connect and build networks beyond the programme.

The programme celebrated outstanding participants to encourage academic excellence. Notably,

Hajiya Latifat Salawudeen from the NASFAT Doka branch emerged as the overall best-performing student.

Abdulrahman Yabagi, a first-time participant, won the welcome test and also secured the top position in his class.

Additionally, Hajiya Fauzia Omowumi scored the highest in the Name Game competition.

Facilitators Hajiya Hauwa Yabagi and Hajiya Hadiya, coordinated the prize giving while Imam Ismail Kolawole anchoring the session.

Speaking on behalf of new participants, the Vice Chairman of NASFAT Doka branch, Alhaji Abdulateef Jimoh, described the experience as wonderful and self-fulfilling. Another participant, Hajiya, also shared her positive experience in an excited mood.

The programme concluded with a closing prayer led by the Ag. Zonal Missioner, Imam Maruf Alabi, who prayed for the overall wellbeing of members, the sick, the forgiveness of the departed, and the continued growth of society.
