Team Kaduna secured four gold, two silver and three bronze medals, making a total of nine at the just concluded National Youth Games (NYG) held in Ilorin to retain its position.
The Team rounded up the 5th edition of the National Youth Games on the 13th spot, out of 33 states that took part.
The position is the same they finished at the end of the 4th edition in 2018.
They won two gold and one silver medals from weightlifting, and a gold medal apiece from male volleyball and male hockey, while they secured three bronze medals from chess, karate and wrestling.
The Director of Sports, Kaduna State, Yakubu Ibrahim had earlier when addressing the state’s contingent, urged them to do the state proud.
Team Kaduna had maintained the 12th position for two days on the medals table before Anambra upset moved them one spot down to the 13th after claiming a good medal during the closing ceremony.
However, the Director of Sports had after the closing ceremony expressed optimism that the next edition would be better. The performance he said was not bad.
