NNN Journalists Health Day: Kaduna Journalists and Families Enjoy Free Medical Services

As part of its Celebration, the New Nigerian Newspapers Kaduna Chapel on Tuesday partnered different stakeholders and organizations to extend free medical services to members and families of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna.

The programme which was initiated by the New Nigerian  Newspapers Chapel of the union in collaboration with the body, (NUJ) witnessed an impressive turn-out of members and families  who took the opportunity of the medical services organized  in celebration of the ‘New Nigerian Newspapers Journalists Week Day’ to have a check on their health status.

Services rendered included that of eye, ear, blood pressure and test for sugar level.

Commending the New Nigerian chapel for facilitating the progranme, Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibade, a veteran journalist, a beneficiary lauded the initiative of the organizers. He called on other chapels to emulate New Nigerian Newspapers.

Organizations present were, the National Eye Center, Kaduna, National Ear Care Center Kaduna, Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Kaduna, Harmony Hospital, Kaduna, Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital, Barau Dikko, National Blood Transfussion Service, North-West Zone, and National Union of Food and Beverages which added impetus to the event as members were refreshed at the end of the exercise.

In a statement jointly signed by the  Chairman, NUJ-NNN Chapel Comrade Nicholas Dekera  and Secretary Ibrahim Adamu says “the event which was held on Tuesday at NUJ Kaduna premises offered free medical check-  up and treatment to hundreds of Kaduna Journalists.

It hailed the management and staff of various hospitals and other organizations for a job well done.

Director, National Eye Centre Kaduna, Dr. Alhassan Mahmud and staff of National Eye Centre Kaduna, the Medical Director National Ear Care Center Mustapha Abu and Staff of National Ear Care Center Kaduna, the Medical Director Federal Neuro-psychiatric Hospital Kaduna Professor Abdulkareem Jika Yusuf and Staff of the hospital, the Medical Director Harmony Hospital  Dr. Elias Anyebe and Staff of Harmony Hospital, the Chief Medical Director Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital Baraudiko Proffessor Tabari Musa and Staff of the Hospital.

The Union also commended the Management and staff of National Blood Transfusion Service North-west Zone  for their supports, the  Brewery Manager, Abbey Ajayi and the  Public Affairs Manager North for providing assorted Maltina drinks and others. Also, appreciated was the National Union of Food and Beverages  for the show of solidarity.

Also commended was the Kaduna Council Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists Comrade Adamu Yusuf for his fatherly role of always giving protection to New Nigerian Chapel and other chapels within the council stressing that such demonstration of love and solidarity is panacea for effective and objective media practice.
