NUJ SWAN Applauds Gov El-Rufai, Prof Mato Over Ministry’s Facelift

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Kaduna Chapter of Sports Writers Association SWAN, has applauded the efforts of Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in giving the ministry a facelift.
It also appreciated the zeal being demonstrated by the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Professor Kabir Mato in the promotion of sports in Kaduna State.
These laudable efforts were noted by members during a maiden Congress held after the reconstitution of the state chapter in Kaduna, following suspension of the four members of the state chapter for disobeying directive of national body of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
The congress headed by Comrade Jacob Zango as Chairman and Abdulwaheed Adubi, Secretary, also appealed to Kaduna State Government to look into the dilapidated nature of some parts of sports facilities at Murtala Muhammad Square which requires urgent attention while calling on the Commissioner, Prof Mato to expedite action in the early preparations of athletes for Edo 2020.
In a communique issued at the end of the congress and signed by chairman of the Communique Drafting Committee Mayen Etim, Andrew Mshelia Secretary and Benjamin Auta, member, congress stated that ‘SWAN is working assiduously towards having a Secretariat and a mini-sports pavilion for members and other stakeholders to unwind especially during leisure.
The Congress commended the efforts of the National Secretariat of Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, to reconcile the two factions of SWAN by setting up a five-member committee at its NEC in Lokoja, Kogi State. 
 It also stated, “That the suspension of the four erring members in the State stands until counter directive from the National Body is received.
“The Congress commended the Minister of Youth and Sports for appointing Mr. Kola Daniels, whose appointment was on merit, as Special Adviser to the Minister, Mr Sunday Dare.
The communique further said,
“That Kaduna SWAN is willing and ready to collaborate with both the federal and state governments towards having a robust relationship.
“Kaduna SWAN commended its Patron, Engineer Musa Nimrod, for his immense support, and also condoled him on the recent demise of his father.’
