Women politicians in Kaduna state, under the auspices of Women Inter – Party Forum have expressed their determination to shake Kaduna political space come 2023 general elections as they are already gathering momentum to make their dream a reality.

They are going to make a difference by changing the game. They are going to capture most of the seats in the state. The group said.

This was a front burner discussion at their first meeting held in Kaduna during the week.
The President, Kaduna State Women Inter – Party Forum, Halima Lanti Hyet Waziri, had in her address after the reading of the minute of the last meeting and business of the day on the agenda by the Secretary, Hon.
Aisha Ahmed commended the women representatives from across the different local governments areas and parties for their dedication and dodginess to make a difference come 2023 general elections.
The turn out she said was very impressive.  The interactive session which took the air gave the women opportunity to contribute
on how best to strategize towards surmounting the grey areas militating against their successes during elections.
According to the president, the sky is their limit. The year 2023  is a year of success and fulfillment. She assured.
In a brief interview with Zainab Tanimu shortly after the meeting, she  has this to say.
’’We want to make sure that we encourage women who are interested in politics. We want to feel the presence of women in elective offices, in political offices.
In Kaduna House of Assembly for example, we have only one woman whose office is being contested.
In the House of Rep. and Senate, we don’t have women at all.
”I must say our governor, El-Rufai has been so good to us. He has appointed our women in leadership positions but we want women to be elected.
We want the public, the people of Kaduna state  to recognize the importance of women in elective offices. Therefore, we groom ourselves so that in the next elections we would have women representation.
We want to fill up this gap. That is our dream and by the grace of God, our dream would come to reality. ”
Explaining what the terrane looks like and reason why most women find it difficult to make it to the end during elections, she said.
”I have been in politics for about 10years now and l must say, the scenario have been so difficult for the women.
This is why for those of us who have been in the game, we want to make sure that
these difficulties are eradicated so that we would have it smooth come next elections, so that women would participate in politics
just as we have it in other countries.
”We groom the young ones. We want to go and catch them even when they are in secondary school, educate them, tell them about politics and encourage them to participate in politics.
”In 2014, l contested for the Federal House of Representatives under Jaba/Zago, under the umbrella of the All Progressive Party, (APC) and couldn’t make it to the primaries not because l did not win but as a result of the problem that women normally face.
So this time, we want to overcome these problems.
We would surely get there for God says, stand up and l will be there to support you.”
