Farmers in Sokoto State to Smile as Government plans to embark on construction of Wells

Plans are on the way by the Sokoto state government to assist the farmers in easing farm work as mechanisms are already being put in place to tackle the issue of water shortage.

The move to construct wells by the government is said to be as a result of the projection of the likelihood that farmers in the state might experience draught later in the year.

The Project Manager, Sokoto Agricultural Development Project, Alhaji Abubakar Malami disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen. He said there was insufficient water in their dams to support all year round farming across Sokoto state.
