Honour Sirawoo’s Led SWAN Case Against NUJ, 2 Others Adjourned To March 9, 2020
KADUNA Northwest Nigeria:
The Court Case instituted by Honour Sirawoo-led SWAN vs NUJ/Jacob Zango and Waheed Adubi, has been adjourned to March 9, 2020, when the case came up at the Chief Magistrate Court Barnawa, Kaduna South, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.
The Counsel for NUJ/Jacob Zango and Waheed Adubi, Barr Desmond Tabawhat had informed the Chief Magistrate that the Counsel for the Honor Sirawoo’s led SWAN was not in court and therefore asked the Court to strike out the case, as there was no excuse from him. He informed the Court that he was ready to argue the case that the Court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case which borders on leadership tussle.
The Chief Magistrate however listened to the excuse of Jacob Onjewu Dickson representing Honour Sirawoo’s led SWAN, who said that their Counsel lost his father, hence, his failure to appear in court for the case.
Upon the information, the Chief Magistrate asked Barr Desmond Tabawhat, counsel for NUJ his views, the Counsel said that he can take a date to give the other party another chance.
It will be recalled that the Honor Sirawoo’s led SWAN took the NUJ/Jacob Zango, Waheed Adubi, to court to stop the election of new officers on January 14, 2020.
The Chairman , Comrade Adamu Yusuf led Council Exco and members on Wednesday ,12th February ,2020 to the Chief Magistrate Court at Barnawa ,Kaduna State to hear the aforementioned case .
