The Economic And Financial Crime Commission, (EFCC) has re-iterated its commitments to fighting corruption as Nigeria it said will never be corrupted under its watch.
It will do all within its power to rid the nation of corruption.
This was disclosed by the Acting Executive Chairman, Economic And Financial Crime Commission, Ibrahim Magu while addressing Journalists at its Kaduna State Secretariat, Monday, 17, February, 2020 ahead the passing out parade of the Detective Inspector Course Five, sheduled to take place tommorrow at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna.
The Commission had also expressed determination towards ensuring quality of its staff assuring that the trained Detective Inspector Course 5  Cadets will further give the Commission a boost in its fight agsinst corruption.
“The graduating Cadets have been charged to be torch bearers of intergrity and professionalism. We will ensure that they keep to all the terms of their engagement as law enforcement officers.  We will also ensure that the quality of training of all officers of the EFCC keep improving from time to time. Magu assured.
Military training all over the world is known for discipline, perseverance, strength, courage and tenacity. All these he said have been impacted in their  training which EFCC in collaboration with Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) have put in place.
He had assured of the officers’ competence as they are officers that cannot be intimidated by challenges neither can they be discouraged by threats or defeated by obstacles that may come their way.
Corruption is a mountain which can only be broken by prepared men and women of valour and virtues. He said.
Corruption is a fight for everyone as such all hands must be on deck for it to succeed. He emphasized.
” We are not relenting in our crusade and it is important that every Nigerian jump ln the bandwagon of anti- corruption fight.
Corruption is destructive and should not be allowed to wreak more havoc in our country. We will never relent in our efforts to rid Nigeria of all forms of corrupt practises.
“I have said this times without number, Nigeria shall never be corrupted because we will not give up and we will not surrender to the forces of darkness and greed in our midst.”
Ennumerating successes recorded, he said.
“Let me reiterate the commitments of the EFCC to its assigned mandate of combating Economic And Financial Crimes; we are breaking barriers in our investigations, prosecutions and convictions.
In the last four years under my watch, we have secured unprecedented number of convictions. 
“In 2019 alone, we secured 1218 convictions while in 2020, we have 48 convictions already and still counting.
Speaking on the issue of assets recovery, 
“We recovered billions of naira, millions of dollars, pounds sterling and other currencies.
I wish to inform you that we have also handed over several forfeited properties to government agencies thereby saving the nation billions of naira in rent.” 
The profile of convictions he described as quite heavy. This includes former governors, captains of industry, former military chiefs, oil subsidy merchants and scores of players in the private sectors.”
Magu called on the media who he
described as corruption hunters to help in making the war on corruption a success. 
Throwing light on  Diezeni’s case, he
said EFCC is putting pressure that she be
returned to her country Nigeria to answer for her crime saying, all the looters seek refuge abroad.
“All of them are hiding in Europe and America. We are mounting pressures.
As for the Yahoo boys, a program is on course that will rehabilitate them so that they can be reformed. He informed.
The Acting Executive Chairman appealled to Nigerians to have the love of the country at heart by being consciencious in their acts saying, “if you are not a looter, we will not go after you.”
