KANO: NAFDAC Discovers Fake  Pharmaceutical Products Worth Millions Of Naira in Sabon Gari

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC has discovered fake and un registered pharmaceutical products worth millions of naira in a shop located at sabon gari market, Kano.
Kano state Coordinator of the Agency Alhaji Shaba Muhd stated this to journalists while inspecting the shop.
Alhaji shaba said in an effort to curtail the challenge of selling non hygienic and  expired food and drugs to the public, his agency was able to gather intelligence information which led them to raid the shop
He stated that the preliminary investigation conducted by NAFDAC revealed that the drug was that of sex enhancer and according to the state coordinator, the drug was not passed through any regulatory process.
He maintained that the tablets if packaged and sold into the market
would harm anyone that consumed it.
Alh Shaba pointed out that the agency didn’t make any arrest in connection to the fake drug, emphasizing that investigation was in progress to apprehend the owner of the shop.
He also disclosed that the agency in collaboration with the national committee on fire arms has arrested 3 persons who alleged to have been involved in adulterating pure honey with sugar and sold in a market as pure honey.
He said such habit was dangerous to diabetic patient 
He said the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution and called on the public to provide useful information to the agency to assist in curtailing the fake drug into the market.
