Kaduna Business Guru Extol Journalists
…Says, You Are The Voice Of The Voiceless
Zainab Tanimu
Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria
Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale  is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, (CEO), EDI-JEN Group of companies.
This business Guru who vowed to support Journalism has described Journalists as the voice of the voiceless anywhere in the world.
He stated this while receiving an award of a Philanthropic Excellence for the Year 2019/2020, from the correspondent chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna chaptel.
Dr. Omale who extolled journalists in the highest realm said as the fourth estate of the realm they need to be given all the needed supports in order to continue to do their job without fear or favour.
Chief Ben Omale have also vowed to not only look into but to support and collaborate with the union in their demands and challenges.
According to him, “I am greatly honor and very please to received your most prestigious award. Journalists everywhere are the voice of the voiceless, they represents and bridge the gap between the authority and the people of this country.
“I have for a long time have a respect for them because without Journalists we can not just stand up and know what is happening around us or our lives. They speaks the truth and stand for the truth.
“You know when someone stand up and speaks the truth people takes him to be a poor man. You know, you can never be rich when you don’t behave abnormal, if you want to be poor you have to be dumb.
“In a well standard economy, especially in the Western world, journalism is a socially valued arms because govt promote them because of what they are doing but the government disconnects  itself from journalists in Nigeria because they don’t want to do what is right and so, they becomes enemity with govt and therefore they loose their prime right which they are supposed to get with the government.
“So, you represent us, where we are voiceless, you voice us and that is why i  take your case as a very important one and a great association.
“Another thing that impresses me most is not the monetary values, because l have not seen any of you before neither interacted with you before but on your own you have seen me worthy through your investigation from the grassroot where you got your information concerning me.
“In fact, you set life for people and makes live better, you makes many people to realize their fault but to me, ” you are correcting and helping the people who are not doing what they are supposed to do and that is why i called you the real journalism”, he averred.
Dr. Omale said he has a journalist friend who told me that some of them have been poisoned while some have been arrested because they said the truth but urged them never to stop until their voices are heard.
Chief Omale however, thanked God Almighty and the correspondent chapel of NUJ for bestowing on him with the prestigious award, on behalf of his family and his management team.
Earlier, the NUJ correspondent chapel Chairman, Mr Midat Joseph, said NUJ award anywhere in the world is not monetary but for those who have touched the lives of the society positively like chief Omale, going by the information available to journalists.
The award is part of the lecture and award series organized and given to deserving Nigerians by the chapel in Kaduna state, based on merit. He said.
